The company

The service is built and operated by Copper Sun Content and Creative, LLC, a small California company in Redwood City. It is deliberately small: the same people who run the transcription pipeline answer the support email, write the guides, and fix the pricing tables when a vendor changes its rates.

BrassTranscripts launched in 2025 after we needed transcripts for our own recorded interviews and found that every option was either a monthly subscription we would rarely use or a developer API we would have to wire up ourselves. Flat per-file pricing was the product we wanted, so we built it.

How a transcript is produced

1. You upload an audio or video file (11 formats, up to 450MB). Language is detected automatically across 99+ languages.
2. An AI speech-recognition pipeline transcribes the audio and separates speakers automatically — up to 6 distinct voices, each labeled with timestamps. Processing takes roughly 1–3 minutes per hour of audio.
3. You see the first 30 words before paying, so you can judge quality on your own recording.
4. After payment you download TXT, SRT, VTT, and JSON. Audio is deleted 24 hours after upload and transcripts 48 hours after processing; nothing is used to train models.

We do not publish an accuracy percentage because accuracy depends on your recording more than on the engine. The preview exists so you can measure it yourself. Our research index collects the primary sources on speech-recognition accuracy, diarization, and audio quality that inform how we build and describe the product.

Editorial policy for our guides

• Written by the team that runs the product. Every guide is authored and reviewed by BrassTranscripts staff; we do not accept guest posts or paid placements.
• Facts are checked against the live product and primary sources. Pricing, limits, and formats are verified against the production configuration; industry claims cite the original source.
• Dated when updated. Posts show a last-updated date only when the content actually changed.
• Corrections are welcome. Email us via the contact page with the page URL; we fix errors and note the change.
• Competitor pricing pages are comparisons, not endorsements. Where we compare, we link to the vendor's own pricing page and say when we last checked it.
